About

The New England Youth Coalition (NEYC) is a multi-state coalition of youth with foster care experience and adult supporters who work together to improve the quality of life for youth involved with the foster care system through education, advocacy, and improvement of policy and practice. NEYC utilizes a youth-adult partnership model to tackle meaningful policy projects and create a supportive social context in which young people can form connections with others who share similar lived experiences. NEYC offers youth advocates a platform to practice engaged leadership and participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

NEYC facilitates monthly virtual meetings with Youth Advocates (16-23) and their Adult Supporters and longer, biannual conferences both online and in-person. Youth advocates stay connected to their state’s Youth Advisory Board (YAB) and facilitate information sharing between NEYC and their YABs.

Alumni

Youth become Alumni of NEYC once they turn 23. On occasion, Alumni may be asked to come back to the NEYC space to help facilitate trainings, or conferences.  They may also be asked to travel to conferences to speak on behalf of NEYC.
