Vacation Time

All benefits-eligible employees begin to accrue vacation time after completing their introductory period with the accrual retroactive to the date of hire. Employees whose first date of employment falls between the first and the fifteenth of a month receive vacation accrual for that entire month. Employees whose first date of employment is after the fifteenth of a month accrue vacation time beginning on the first day of the first full month of employment. Vacation accruals for part-time regular employees are pro-rated based on the percentage of full-time hours hired to work. 


Sick Time

Full time employees receive one day, 8 hours, of paid sick time per month.  Earned sick accruals for part-time regular and part-time, employees are prorated based on the percentage of full-time hours hired to work.

Employees who are not benefits eligible will earn sick time based on Massachusetts Earned Sick Leave Policy (employees shall accrue 1 hour of earned sick time for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 40 hours of accrued sick time per year).   Employees may carry over up to 40 hours of unused earned sick time to the next calendar year but are not entitled to use more than 40 hours in one calendar year. Accrued, unused earned sick time is not paid out upon the separation of employment.
