Research

Our group conducts clinical and translational research in psychotic disorders, including bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. We use brain imaging techniques, in particular magnetic resonance spectroscopy, to study brain chemistry and bioenergetics in these conditions. We also use functional MRI to correlate these abnormalities with the functioning of brain circuit activity. Finally, we have an NIMH-funded Center conducting clinical research on disease trajectories and treatment response in first episode psychosis.
