Registration Details

Organizational Skills Training is an effective, evidence-based program designed to support children, teens, and their families in developing essential skill sets related to executive functioning. This program is specifically designed for children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and can also be used with other children and families who demonstrate executive functioning difficulties.

Clinicians will learn to conduct this intervention with families to improve the client’s organizational skills, time management, planning skills, and task completion. Organizational Skills Training is empirically tested and proven to have positive effects on family functioning and academic productivity and performance. This training is appropriate for mental health providers at introductory levels.

Cost

Tier 1: Graduate Students (without access to clinical cases for consultation), $160

Registrants receive:

  • 1-day training, 6 hours
  • Organizational Skills Training for Children with ADHD manual
  • Breakfast and lunch for in-person participants
     

Tier 2: Clinicians/Mental Health Providers and Advanced Students (with access to cases for consultation), $325

Registrants receive:

  • 1-day training, 6 hours
  • 6 hours follow-up professional consultation
  • Organizational Skills Training for Children with ADHD manual
  • Breakfast and lunch for in-person participants
  • Continuing Education (CE) credits are available for licensed psychologists, counselors, and social workers
  • Supervisors may be eligible to train their clinical staff in OST; future training offerings will be available to guide supervisors in common difficulties supervisees face in utilizing OST

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify typical organization, time management, and planning deficits children with ADHD demonstrate and how they impact home and family functioning.
  2. Describe how to systematically evaluate organizational, time management, and planning deficits.
  3. Conduct a manualized treatment to improve organization, time management, and planning skills with families.
  4. Adapt the treatment manual to be implemented in your clinical setting with children of varied ages.
  5. Adapt program goals for situations in which children are receiving educational instruction and assignments through online delivery of instruction and use of online materials.
  6. Explain how to effectively alter program delivery by emphasizing parent guidance as the main focus as compared to child skills training.

Continuing Education

Psychologists
The Baker Center for Children and Families is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Baker Center for Children and Families maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

Counselors
The Baker Center for Children and Families has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7254. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. The Baker Center for Children and Families is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

Social Workers
This program has been approved for 6 Social Work Continuing Education hours for relicensure, in accordance with 258 CMR. NASW-MA Chapter CE Approval Program Authorization Number D91876.

There are no known commercial support or conflicts of interest related to this program. Attendance at this full day of training is expected. Partial registrations are not allowed and partial CE credits cannot be provided. This event has been approved for 6 CE credit hours. CE credit hours are not provided for the consultations following the initial training.

Cancellation Policy

Full payment is required at registration. Cancellations prior to 6 weeks before the first day of training will receive a full refund. Cancellations between 3 and 6 weeks prior to the first day of training will receive a 50% refund. No refunds are available for cancellations made less than 3 weeks prior to the first day of training.
