Shared Learning Collaboratives
About
Child welfare agency leaders created NEACWCD nearly 40 years ago to support them in their efforts to develop and implement policies that promote competent practice and better outcomes for children and families. Current leaders continue to believe that their ability to be more effective benefits from a shared learning environment where participants discuss mutual concerns and issues as well as their successes and challenges with policy and practice implementation.
Association leaders and peer groups of their staff attend regularly scheduled, regional meetings to discuss issues including workforce recruitment, development and retention, systems change, safety and risk assessment, program planning and development, team building, practice methods, CQI, legal and judicial matters and evaluation. Having access to each other’s best practices is not enough, because putting knowledge into action requires that organizations to have the capacity to do so. NEACWCD, in partnership with a variety of consultants, funders and partners, helps members enhance their capacity for implementing and sustaining change.
