Whether your child struggles to stay focused, manage big reactions, or follow everyday routines, understanding what is behind the challenge is the first step. We begin with an assessment and recommend support tailored to your child and family.

Trouble paying attention

Many kids with ADHD may find it challenging to pay attention and stay focused both at school during class and at home when caregivers are trying to provide them with instructions.

Impulsive behaviors

Some kids with ADHD have impulsive behaviors which can include excessive talking, interrupting others, not being able to take turns, or trying to control friends and classmates.

Hyperactive behaviors

ADHD can cause kids to have hyperactive behaviors like not being able to sit still, fidgeting and squirming during class or at home, being restless or irritable, running, climbing, and jumping at inappropriate times, or being unable to participate in calmer or more leisurely activities.

Anger, irritability, and temper tantrums

Many kids with behavioral challenges can have frequent outbursts of anger or have a temper tantrum when things don't go their way. You may feel like you never know what's going to set off these reactions and constantly feel on edge trying to avoid fights and arguments.

Tension with classmates and friends

Some kids may argue with classmates or friends or be too aggressive or rough during playtime. They may have difficulty maintaining friendships or be seen as a "bully" in the eyes of other students at school. They may struggle to take turns and share, and may be seen frequently telling friends and classmates what to do, and get upset when told no.
