Some kids have trouble sleeping. Sometimes they can’t fall asleep for hours, they may get up in the middle of the night and wake family members, and they might start their day too early and disrupt the household. Guidance from a clinician can help resolve these challenges and help kids sleep through the night.
Some kids may be able to get to bed on time, but then can't fully sleep through the night. They may wake up before anyone else in the house and disrupt the sleep routines of their family members.
Get help for sleeping through the night
Many kids may refuse to go to bed at a regular time or put up a fight when asked to put away screens or other devices when it's bedtime. This can lead to feelings of stress and walking on eggshells for caregivers each night.
Get help for refusal to go to bed
Some kids may suffer from insomnia, or chronic difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep. They may have difficulty sticking to regular sleep routines and patterns and may sleep at inappropriate times like at school or in the middle of a family activity. This can sometimes be caused by other mental health conditions like stress and anxiety.
Most kids will experience nightmares as they're growing and developing, but some will experience them much more frequently and have their nightmares rooted in deeper fears, phobias, or anxiety. Frequent nightmares can also sometimes be a sign of an issue like trauma or abuse.
