The Baker Center for Children and Families, a nationally recognized organization dedicated to improving mental health care for children and families, today announced that Richard Glovsky has joined the organization as General Counsel as of August 1, 2026. Having represented and advised The Baker Center for more than two decades, Glovsky brings more than 40 years of legal experience and a deep understanding of the organization’s mission, programs and operations.
As General Counsel, Glovsky will advise The Baker Center’s leadership on legal and operational matters, including governance, employment practices, contracts, and risk management. He will provide strategic counsel as the organization continues to expand access to effective, evidence-based mental health care, special education and system-level support that help organizations adopt and sustain proven practices.

His judgment and experience will help us navigate important decisions, strengthen our operations and continue delivering care that works.”
Glovsky joins The Baker Center following a distinguished legal career focused on employment law, organizational counsel and litigation. Most recently, he served as counsel at Troutman Pepper Locke LLP, where he advised employers on a wide range of workplace matters and represented clients in employment-related litigation involving class actions, wage and hour issues, and discrimination and retaliation claims. He also served as a trusted adviser and outside general counsel to companies and senior executives.
Earlier in his career, Glovsky spent seven years with the United States Department of Justice, including two years with the Office of Legal Counsel in Washington, D.C., and five years as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts. As Chief of the Civil Division, he was responsible for all civil litigation in Massachusetts, involving the United States. He later held senior positions at several Boston law firms, including serving as partner and co-chair of the Labor and Employment Law Practice Group at Locke Lord LLP.

I know this organization, I believe deeply in its mission, and I am ready to put my experience to work helping its leadership make sound decisions and extend its impact.”
Glovsky earned a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and a Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School, where he served as a law review editor. He also has served the community in numerous respects, including as Chair of the then Newton Human Rights Commission, Chair of the National Civil Rights and Latino Affairs Committees of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), co-founder of the Latino-Jewish Roundtable, and Board Chair of the New England Region of the ADL. Glovsky currently serves as a member of the Disability Commission of the City of Boston, to which he was appointed by Mayor Wu, and the Dartmouth College Trustee Nominating Committee, which selects alumni trustees for his undergraduate alma mater. Glovsky has received numerous recognitions in his career, the most recent of which will occur on September 15, when he is inducted into the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly Hall of Fame.
Born in Boston, Glovsky was a resident of Newton for more than 50 years. He currently resides in Boston with his wife, Hilary.
