Mary Woodland is an independently licensed clinical social worker (LICSW) and Assistant Director of the Center for Effective Therapy - Waltham. She has worked in a variety of mental health settings with children, adolescents, young adults and their families. She has provided individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy and short term assessment and intervention in outpatient, community based, short term psychiatric and residential settings. Mary’s primary therapeutic modality in her work is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), incorporating in additional modalities such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS). Mary specializes in working with youth and young adults experiencing depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicidality, family conflict, life transitions and behavioral issues. Mary is collaborative and compassionate in her approach, working to help youth and families build skills, increase insight, improve communication and feel empowered in the therapeutic space.
