Edleen De Jesus-Sanchez, PsyD

Staff Psychologist

Start Treatment

Dr. Edleen De Jesus-Sanchez is a Staff Psychologist at the Center for Effective Therapy. She graduated cum laude from Florida State University with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Child Development. Dr. De Jesus-Sanchez earned her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Florida Institute of Technology. She completed her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Hartford Hospital/Institute of Living. During her postdoctoral fellowship, she primarily worked with sexual and gender-diverse children, adolescents, and young adults.

Dr. De Jesus-Sanchez has extensive experience working with children who have experienced trauma, particularly those affected by sexual abuse. She has also worked with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma-related concerns, and behavioral challenges. Dr. De Jesus-Sanchez is passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and people from diverse cultural and multicultural backgrounds.

Her clinical training includes evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She has worked in a variety of mental health settings, including intensive outpatient programs, partial hospitalization programs, inpatient hospitals, residential treatment programs, community mental health centers, and therapeutic school environments.
