Sofi Block, MA
Post-Master’s Fellow
Sofi Block (she/her/hers) is a Post-Master’s Fellow at The Baker Center for Children and Families. She graduated from Hamilton College with a B.A. in Psychology, with minors in Theatre and Mathematics. After working briefly at an Applied Behavior Analysis school, she attended Boston College, where she earned her M.A. in Mental Health Counseling. During her studies, she interned in the Community Mental Health realm and conducted individual and group counseling sessions in schools with middle and high school students.
Sofi has experience working with clients aged 3-22 across a variety of clinical and non-clinical settings. While she appreciates every setting she has worked in, she is especially thrilled to be at The Baker Center. Providing evidence-based, high-quality care is very important to her as a counselor. She is particularly excited about the family involvement at The Baker Center, because she believes that caregivers’ active participation in mental health care is crucial to their children’s progress. Sofi has been trained in Motivational Interviewing during her graduate studies. Currently, she is working towards certification in the Modular Approach to Treatment for Children with Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, or Conduct Problems (MATCH-ADTC). One day in the distant future, Sofi also hopes to gain a certificate in Wilderness Therapy.
