Taylor Matthews, PsyD
Postdoctoral Fellow
Dr. Taylor Matthews is excited to join CET as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Pediatric Neuropsychology. She earned her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and her M.A. in Professional Psychology and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from William James College. She completed her APA-accredited predoctoral internship at the Leon O. Brenner Center for Psychological Assessment and Consultation.
Dr. Matthews has experience assessing and treating children and adolescents with a wide range of neurodevelopmental, educational, emotional, and behavioral concerns, including ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, learning disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma-related difficulties, and other complex presentations. Her clinical training has included comprehensive neuropsychological and psychological assessment, as well as evidence-based interventions such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), exposure-based interventions, and parent-focused approaches. She has worked with children and families across outpatient, school, and community-based settings.
Dr. Matthews is especially passionate about helping families understand not just where a child may be struggling, but why they are struggling. She enjoys identifying each child’s unique pattern of strengths and challenges and translating assessment findings into practical, individualized recommendations that can support them at home, at school, and in their everyday lives. She is excited to continue developing her expertise in pediatric neuropsychological assessment at CET as she works toward her goal of becoming a board-certified pediatric neuropsychologist.
A lifelong Newton native, Dr. Matthews grew up just down the road from the Waltham office and graduated from Newton North High School, go Tigers! She has always loved working with kids, both in and outside of the clinical world. When she isn’t working, she can usually be found tackling an overly ambitious craft project, cuddling with her Yorkie, Stella, or spending time with family and friends.
