Staff Mental Health Counselor
Liz Guerrant is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) and Staff Mental Health Counselor at The Center for Effective Therapy. Liz graduated with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health from Boston College in 2019. She has worked in a variety of mental health settings and levels of care and has provided individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, school consultations and large-scale interventions across school, outpatient, and community-based settings. Liz specializes in working with youth experiencing anxiety, trauma, attachment, behavioral issues, and family conflict. Trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, and Attachment Regulation and Competency (ARC), Liz values family and systems involvement, and works to partner with caregivers throughout treatment. She utilizes humor and curiosity to form strong relationships with her clients. Experienced in supporting families navigate complex systems of care, Liz is passionate about increasing access to evidence-based treatment and building youths’ and families’ capacities for healing. She approaches psychotherapy using a strength-based lens, empowering young people and their families to take an active role in treatment, increase insight, enhance coping and problem-solving skills.
